Giraffe 3D Craft Template
I’ll never forget the look on my nephew’s face at the zoo when he saw a giraffe for the first time. His eyes went wide as he tilted his head all the way back, trying to see the top.
He was completely fascinated by their long necks and gentle faces.
That moment stuck with me, and I wanted to capture a little of that wonder in a craft we could do at home.

That’s how this 3D paper craft giraffe came to be! It’s a fun project that lets kids build their own long-necked friend, and I’m excited to share the printable with you today.

Tips for a Great-Looking Giraffe
Here are a few extra tips to help make your giraffe assembly a success:
- Use Cardstock: I highly recommend printing on white cardstock. It makes the model much sturdier and easier to glue.
- Score the Folds: Before folding, use a ruler and a blunt tool (like a butter knife or an empty pen) to press down on the fold lines. This creates crisp, clean edges.
- Allow Drying Time: Be patient! Let the glue on one part set before attaching the next one. This is especially true when attaching the neck to the body.

How to Build Your Giraffe:
- Cut the Body: Start by carefully cutting out the first piece, which is the giraffe’s body and legs.
- Form the Body: Fold all the flaps and sides along the dotted lines. Then, apply glue to each flap and press them into place to create the boxy body.
- Create the Neck: Cut out the neck piece. Roll it into shape and apply glue to the tab where the ends meet to secure it.
- Attach the Neck: Apply glue to the lower flaps of the finished neck piece. Carefully press it onto the designated spot on top of the giraffe’s body.
- Add Final Details: Cut out the face and tail pieces. Glue the face onto the front of the neck and the tail onto the back of the body to finish your giraffe!
