Free Printable Homework Planners & Trackers!
I clearly remember one Monday afternoon.
My daughter came home, and when I asked about homework, she just shrugged, saying, “I think I have something, but I’m not sure what or when it’s due.”
Later that evening, she suddenly remembered the math homework and started digging through her bag like crazy. Finally, she found a crumpled worksheet at the bottom—it was due tomorrow!

It was a scramble, and a bit stressful for both of us. That’s when I realized a simple, visual tool could make a huge difference.
So, I designed these straightforward homework planners and trackers, and I’m sharing them with you today, hoping they bring a little more peace and organization to your family’s school routine, too.
About These Homework Organizers
This printable pack contains two main types of organizational tools, with a few style variations:
- A Weekly Homework Planner (5 design variations, same layout).
- A Homework Tracker (5 design variations, including cute monsters and a plain version).
Both are designed to be easy for kids to understand and use.

The Weekly Planner
The Weekly Homework Planner gives you a clear overview of the school week, from Monday to Friday.
Each day has rows to list out tasks. For each task, there are columns for:
- Class: To note the subject.
- Task Details: Space to write down the specific assignment.
- Due Date: So nothing gets missed!
- Done: A satisfying little box to check off.
This layout helps break down the week and see all assignments at a glance.
The Homework Tracker
The Homework Tracker pages are great for listing assignments as they come in, especially if the workload varies.
These trackers feature columns for:
- Assignment: To write down what needs to be done.
- Time Spent: Helpful for understanding how long tasks take.
- Due date: To keep deadlines in sight.
- A Checkbox: For that great feeling of completion!
Some versions of this tracker include adorable little monster illustrations to make tracking a bit more fun! There’s also a plain version if you prefer.
Benefits of Using Homework Planners
Using a planner isn’t just about writing things down; it offers real benefits for students.
It helps teach organization skills and time management. Kids learn to prioritize tasks and plan ahead.
A planner promotes responsibility and independence. They take ownership of their assignments.
Most importantly, it can significantly reduce stress for both kids and parents by preventing last-minute rushes. No more Monday evening surprises!

Here are a few ideas to help your child get the most out of their new planner:
- Be Consistent: Encourage them to fill it out daily, perhaps right after school.
- Keep it Visible: Place the planner somewhere they’ll see it often, like on the fridge or their desk.
- Review Together: Especially at first, quickly review the planner with them each evening or morning.
- Break Down Big Tasks: For larger projects, help them break it into smaller steps on the planner.
- Celebrate Completion: Acknowledge their effort when they check things off!
