Step 1: The Snout and Head
To start your horse, we are going to draw the snout area. Draw a large, rounded shape that looks like a sideways letter “U.”

Inside this shape, draw a curved line across the middle to separate the muzzle from the rest of the face. This creates the basic frame for our horse’s head.
Step 2: Facial Features
Next, let’s bring your horse to life with a face. In the top section of the head, draw two solid oval shapes for the eyes.

In the lower muzzle area, add two small dots for the nostrils and a little curved line for a friendly smile. Your horse is already looking very happy!
Step 3: Ears and Mane
Now we need to add the hair and ears. On top of the head, draw two pointy, leaf-like shapes for the ears.

Between the ears, draw a zig-zag line to create the “forelock” or the hair on the forehead. Then, continue that zig-zag line down the back of the head to start the horse’s mane.
Step 4: Neck and Body Outline
It is time to build the horse’s body. Starting from the head, draw a long, slightly curved line going down for the neck, and then continue it straight across to form the back and the rear.

Draw another curved line under the chin for the chest and front of the body. This gives your horse its sturdy frame.
Step 5: The Legs
Now your horse needs some legs to stand on. Draw four simple vertical shapes coming down from the body. You can make them slightly wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.

Make sure to draw a straight horizontal line between the legs to finish the belly area.
Step 6: Tail and Hoof Details
Last but not least, let’s add the final details. Draw a wavy, bushy tail coming off the back of the horse.

To finish the legs, draw a small horizontal line near the bottom of each one to represent the hooves. This little detail makes your horse look ready to gallop!
Congratulations! You have officially learned how to draw a horse.

Time to Color
Now that your drawing is finished, it is time to add some color. You could make a classic brown horse with a black mane, a spotted pony, or even a white horse.

If you want to get creative, you could draw some grass and a fence in the background to show your horse in its pasture.
Happy drawing!
