Let’s Make This Activity Shine!
Getting this activity ready is a breeze, and playing with it is even more delightful. Hereβs my favorite way to set it up:
Supplies Needed
Hereβs a little list of supplies that will help you make the most of this ladybug shape adventure!
- Inkjet Color Printer (This one is my go-to for vibrant printables!)
- White Cardstock Paper (This makes the pieces much sturdier for little hands!)
- Scissors (And maybe a Paper cutter for those straight edges if you have one!)
- Optional: Laminator (If you want to use this again and again, laminating is a great idea!)
- Optional: Velcro Dots (These are fantastic for making the wings stick to the ladybugs for an extra tactile element!)
Here’s How to Play:
- Print the Sheets: Print both ladybug base and wing sheets. Using cardstock is best for durability, especially for little hands!
- Cut Out Wings: Carefully cut out all individual ladybug wing shapes. Older kids can help with simpler shapes under supervision.
- Match the Shapes: Lay out ladybug bases and wing cutouts. Help your child pick a wing, identify its shape, and match it to the correct ladybug.
- Learn & Chat: Talk about shapes, colors, and ladybug spots as you play! This reinforces learning and builds vocabulary in a fun way.
