About This Paper Craft Rabbit

This printable template allows you to build a sweet, block-style 3D rabbit. The design is very straightforward, making it an ideal first project for anyone new to paper modeling.

Once completed, the rabbit stands up on its own, making it a wonderful little toy for imaginative play or a charming decoration for a bedroom shelf.

What’s Included in the Printable

This is an easy one-page craft. When you download the PDF file, you’ll get a single sheet that contains all the parts you need.

The printable includes just two main components to cut out:

  1. The main rabbit body, which includes the legs and the fluffy white tail.
  2. The adorable rabbit face piece, complete with long ears.

Benefits of Paper Craft Activities

Crafting projects like this rabbit are both enjoyable and beneficial for kids’ development.

The process of cutting and folding helps to strengthen fine motor skills. Following the simple, numbered steps encourages patience and the ability to follow instructions.

Turning a flat piece of paper into a 3D model is also a fantastic way to introduce basic concepts of spatial awareness. Plus, there’s a great sense of pride in making your own toy!

Supplies Needed:

Here are the basic supplies you’ll want for this project:

  • Our Free Rabbit Craft PDF: The one-page printable template.
  • Printer: A standard home printer.
  • White Cardstock Paper: (Recommended for a sturdier rabbit!)
  • Scissors: For cutting out the two pieces.
  • Glue: A glue stick or liquid craft glue will do the trick.

How to Assemble Your Rabbit

Building your paper rabbit is a quick and satisfying process. The instructions are broken down into four simple steps.

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Cut Out Pieces: Carefully cut out the main rabbit body piece and the separate face piece from the printed sheet.
  2. Fold the Body: Take the main body piece and fold it along all of the dotted lines to create the 3D shape.
  3. Glue the Body: Apply glue to each of the small gray flaps and press them into place to form the rabbit’s body and legs.
  4. Add the Face: Apply a little glue to the back of the face piece and attach it to the front of your assembled rabbit body.

Tips for a Great Rabbit Craft

  • Use Cardstock: I always recommend printing on white cardstock. It makes the finished model much sturdier and easier to stand up than regular paper.
  • Score the Folds: For neat, crisp folds, use a ruler and a blunt tool (like a butter knife or an empty pen) to score the dotted lines before you fold them.
  • Let Glue Dry: Give the glue on the body a moment to set before you attach the face. This will prevent it from shifting.
