Tiger 3D Paper Craft Template
Hello there, crafters and parents! Today, I’m sharing another fun and simple project for kids who love animals.
I’ve put together a free printable 3D Paper Craft Tiger that’s perfect for a creative afternoon. It’s a fantastic way for children to practice basic crafting skills while building a cool, blocky jungle cat to play with or display.
About This Paper Craft Tiger
This printable allows you to create a friendly, block-style 3D tiger. The design is very straightforward, making it an excellent project for those new to paper modeling.
When finished, the tiger stands on its own four paws, ready for any jungle adventure your child can imagine.
What’s Included in the Printable
This is a simple one-page craft. The downloadable PDF contains a single sheet with all the parts needed to assemble your tiger.
The printable is made up of three components to cut out:
- The main tiger body, with its bold stripes and attached legs.
- The cheerful, two-sided tiger head.
- The long, striped tiger tail.

Benefits of Paper Craft Activities
Crafts like this 3D tiger are not only entertaining but also great for a child’s development.
Working with scissors and folding along lines helps improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Following the numbered steps also encourages patience and the ability to see a project through.
Turning a flat piece of paper into a three-dimensional object is a wonderful introduction to spatial reasoning. Best of all, they end up with a new toy they made themselves!
Supplies Needed:
Here are the basic supplies you’ll want for this project:
- Our Free Tiger Craft PDF: The one-page printable template.
- Printer: A standard home printer.
- White Cardstock Paper: (Highly recommended for a sturdier tiger!)
- Scissors: For cutting out the three pieces.
- Glue: A glue stick or liquid craft glue will work well.
How to Assemble Your Tiger
Building your paper tiger is a simple and rewarding process. The instructions are broken down into four easy-to-follow steps.
Assembly Instructions:
- Cut Out Pieces: Carefully cut out the main tiger body, the head, and the long tail from the printed sheet.
- Fold the Body: Take the main body piece and fold it along all of the dotted lines to create the 3D shape.
- Glue the Body: Apply glue to each of the small gray flaps and press them into place to form the tiger’s body and legs.
- Add Head & Tail: Apply a little glue to the designated areas and attach the head to the front and the tail to the back of your assembled tiger.
Tips for a Great Tiger Craft
- Choose Cardstock: I highly recommend printing on white cardstock. It makes the model much more durable and easier to stand up than regular paper.
- Score Before Folding: For sharp, professional-looking folds, use a ruler and a blunt tool (like a butter knife or an empty pen) to score the dotted lines first.
- Be Patient with Glue: Allow the glue on the body to dry and set before you attach the head and tail for a stronger bond.
